  Collections to discover

The Limoges Fine Arts Museum's Visitors Service remains at your disposal to reflect on specific visits.

Some suggested topics:

  • General or themed discovery trail of the museum's collections (guided visit of the museum or a particular collection)
  • Get to know the museum's documentation resources (including a visit to the library and the Enamel Study Centre)

Museum, a world not widely understood

The Visitors Service suggests an approach to the museums' world through different topics:

  • History of museums and the concept of heritage
  • Museology and museography
  • Preventive conservation
  • Heritage professions

  Museum, a research location

This is an important activity within museums which is very often little known. Research and documentation work - on exhibits and related topics - constitutes a prerequisite for promoting collections.

The archives and image library are open to researchers by appointment.

  Collections to study

The museum's collections offer a wide variety of studies which can be suggested to students coming from different disciplines.

The aim of these scientific or artistic collaborations is to improve understanding of works and increase their value.
